The Knesset Eliyahoo Synagogue is located in the Kala Ghoda district and is Mumbai's second oldest Sephardic synagogue, constructed in 1884. It was commissioned by British architects Gostling & Morris and funded by the Sassoon family, who were prominent donors of the era. The synagogue is renowned for its vibrant turquoise exterior and stunning interior, which is equipped with stained glass windows and ornate pillars. It was painstakingly restored, with the restoration completed in 2019, and awarded the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award of Merit for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
