Previously referred to as the Prince of Wales Museum, this Mumbai world-class museum displays India's rich cultural heritage. Situated in the Kala Ghoda area, the museum houses approximately 50,000 objects of art, archaeology, and natural history in its three divisions. The Indo-Saracenic George Wittet building is itself an attraction. Tourists can view collections ranging from ancient sculptures and coins to European art and Chinese and Japanese art.
